As you know, Aether is created by “programming” a resin as it cures into a solid form. This allows for specific blueprints and instructions to be permanently locked in, essentially creating what is a custom biochemical crystal.

This is the important part. It has to be liquid, then crystallize into a solid, for it to become Aether.

3D printers create items by first melting a plastic filament, then printing it out at great speed. The resin I use to make Aether is a polyester resin, and it essentially creates a sort of plastic. So if I could create Aether from resin, could I do the same with a 3D printer?

The time window from liquid to solid is exceedingly short — less than a second — and for a while I thought it would be impossible to program it so quickly.

But I found a way.

These items cannot receive programming of my choosing. The programming is tied to their specific geometries, and they all have their own unique functions.

What’s more — they are extraordinarily powerful.

These print designs were contributed by Bastion members and are notable for their resonant and organic geometries. These items are 99% air for the most part, which allows for energy to build and swirl within. You will notice a unique sensation when holding one — oddly intelligent and nuanced. Very similar to standard Aether, yet so much more detailed and precise.

The only downside is that each item takes many hours to create, and I can only do one at a time. Stock will be limited for a time, but I will work to improve this.
