There’s never been a better time to be a “bad witch.”

It’s never been more culturally accepted. Most people would jump at the chance to fall into such a storied lifestyle.

How could they not?

You, me, and everyone else have been besieged by alluring — and downright sexy — portrayals of bleak magick.

Harry Potter serves as a perfect introduction. It made the idea of learning magick with a secretive group an enchanting prospect. Every child who soaked the book in desired, above all else, a reality that could compare.

The trend continued. More and more media arrives in perfect timing with its audience, properly seasoned as to best capture our attention at every age.

If I had to choose another, an easy one is Fantastic Beasts. It’s Harry Potter, but tweaked for an adult audience.

How better to capture the attention of adults who loved the series as kids?

The Vampire Diaries, a popular TV show, went ahead and made darker sorts of magick sexy to the teenage crowd.

The Originals, a spinoff of the previous show, did it a second time. Just to make sure the message stuck.

The extreme end of this scale has the more perverse shows, such as American Horror Story and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. There are an increasing number of series coming out in recent years which take it further than all my prior examples.

Because at this point, the subject matter is no longer about exploring a world of functional magick.

It is zeroed in on magick that is primarily designed to hurt.

Manipulate.

Parasitize.

To glorify and encourage revenge, ruthlessness, and emotional depravity.

It ain’t no wingardium leviosa.

But let’s be honest. What’s the point of investigating this topic, anyhow? None of this amounts to anything in the end.

For magick does not exist.

That’s the typical outlook, right?

No such thing as magick. Thus no such thing as witches.

Right?

You’re free to believe what you will. However, many an organization, order, sect, cult and club think otherwise.

Satanism and Wicca — the fastest growing non-major religion in America [1][2][3] — are quite fond of their rituals. Wiccans are proud to admit that they partake in these actions, but few Satanists tell you the same.

Despite their shyness in being forward with the details, magick and ritual are a large part of their curriculum.

Freemasonry is a widespread yet secretive group with some form of lodge in nearly every city in the world.

It is almost entirely ritual based.

In practice they employ an energetic methodology which is strikingly similar to Kabbalistic magick. If you’re interested, look it up.

It’s gnarly stuff. Or at least, it was . . .

Your malls, bars and clubs.

That’s right. Millions. With an M.

And if you’re not with them, you’re likely their food.

If you’re in the same society I am, those dark and witchy sorts must look mighty tempting to you.

And there’s no shame in that.

TV, books, movies and the like have done their best to make this archetype desirable as hell.

They wear dark. Act dark. Sultry and seductive. Mysterious.

What’s not to like?

If they were typical human girls, it could lead to moments of intrigue.

But it’s not to be.

To a witch of a darker persuasion, uninitiated males are playthings. Energy sources. Target practice.

They lure you in purely to toy with you. At best.

At worst, they’re out to test their new power. If you have a good heart, a bright soul, you make for an alluring target. Making you squirm is a real joyride for them.

You might find people giving you wide-eyed stares or glares that make you uncomfortable. This is typically a low level spell. Even if it lasts just a second, you might find yourself experiencing sudden panic. A jolt to the heart.

Now, you know why.

Darker witches come in myriad forms.

They can be stunningly beautiful and young, surgically enhanced to the utmost — so very enticing. They feed on the lust of others and ultimately serve to frustrate.

But only after they ensnare your mind, and ensure you’ll think of no one else. It can be a real irritant if you’re already in a relationship. With a few simple “glamor spells,” this process happens quite automatically.

At the same time, dark witches can also look old, dirty, and to be honest, a little undead.

These are often older women, with bodies and faces contorted and sallow after a life filled with dark ritual. Witches often congregate, traveling in pairs or small groups out in public. Perhaps they’ll have a devilish man or two in their ensemble, or perhaps they won’t. But you can rest assured the group is good to one another, laughing constantly, all smiles. They’ll appear quite friendly.

But you’ll never join their ranks if you’re uninitiated, and it’s by design.

If you’ve ever felt that you were unable to “fit in” to an alluring group, despite their supposedly friendly nature, then you might have been attempting to enter a small coven.

That’s a bold claim to make. Though once you take a look at the numbers, it’s not difficult to see how it could be more common a phenomenon than ever imagined.

Most important to consider: which of these participants are likely to be negative in origin?

Witches of a darker persuasion are typically perceived as clever individuals to speak with, and they have all sorts of inclinations when it comes to appearance and decor.

Many have friends in high places — this is by design — and thus they are showered in prosperity.

Their houses are extravagant. Their clothes, top of the line luxury. Oftentimes they go a little overboard with the accessories (glitzy bangles and earrings galore), but in the end, they come off as savvy, sharp, and sophisticated.

Typically, you’ll either admire everything about them, or hate them.

Because, as you stand in their shadow, it’s tough to compete.

At the other end you have your more . . . uh, witchy witches.

They’re a little disheveled.

Not at all interested in fashion. To be honest they seem tangibly grimy, though it’s not a physical thing. You feel dirty just standing next to them.

These ladies have typically been witchin’ for decades, and it’s beginning to show in their faces. The eyes are shiny and cold, like doll’s eyes. You will be unable to feel a heart behind their gaze.

When they’re out in public, they are almost always causing trouble. Harassing those in the retail and service industries. Asking to speak to managers. Raising their voice, screeching and shambling through buildings like the public menace they encompass.

Whichever end of the scale your particular witch is, they are very likely to have color treated hair. They love it. Can’t be explained. Whether it’s platinum white, or bright purple, it’s oftentimes a good starting indicator.

No matter your flavor of witch, it will be well worth your time to identify them.

If your heart is kind, you will never truly become their friend. That is, until you become just like them.

And believe me, you really don’t want that to happen.

Once you join an organization like that, you’ll find it is impossible to truly leave.

Witches are typically excellent actors, and come off as overly friendly for the most part. Yet from time to time you can tell: these people aren’t entirely genuine.

Whether it’s spontaneous rudeness, cattiness, passive aggressive behavior, or subtly undermining speech, you will glimpse their true nature on occasion. For those more inherently sensitive, you can feel it from their voice, or even their presence. The energy is tainted with something sinister and oppressive.

Wouldn’t it be nice to know once and for all what makes them tick?

Are they rude because of their own inner turmoil OR might they enjoy punishing the masses with their naughty inclinations?
