Some people have a harder time feeling Aether than others. If you fall into this sorry crowd, don’t you worry. There are numerous tips and tricks you can utilize to give yourself the best set-up for maximum perception. You’ll be joining the rest of us in no time.
This is part one of a two-part series. In the first half we’ll go over the basics of health. If you’re sporting too many deficiencies it will definitely have an effect on your success. Luckily you don’t have to turn your life on its head to get results. All it takes is a few tweaks.

I’ll assume you’ve already seen my How To page. You all gave it a go, yes?
Just to be clear, this means you really gave it everything you had. Following each step with utmost diligence, you were capable of relaxing both physically and mentally. All distractions and biases were set aside for this one moment of crystal clear focus.
Does this sound like you? Promise? That’s good!
I have no issue throwing some more pointers out. I understand this is something unique and foreign to many of you.
Just realize, if you didn’t put up any effort on the first page I wrote and decide to continue that half-heartedness here, you’ll only be cheating yourself out of an incredible and worthwhile experience.
If it’s a struggle, you might have to put some honest effort into this. I’ll help however I can.

What state of health is typical these days?
Consider a common American. Dehydrated, sleep deprived, malnourished and nursing side effects from a number of solid pharmaceuticals — this is the new norm.
At first you might not think this is you. You feel cognizant, alert, capable. You drink when you’re thirsty. You take a multi-vitamin. Fast food, okay, occasionally, but it’s not enough to kill anyone. You don’t sleep like a king, sure, and you have one measly prescription for anxiety, but you don’t feel that it alters who you are. This can’t be enough to make you incapable of perceiving something others can. No way. Right?

Water
If you get thirsty, you’re dehydrated. If you’re dehydrated, your body is at sub-par performance. Don’t believe me, read this link I Googled. If you don’t believe dehydration to be a big deal, think again. If you have chronic discomfort or weariness, it could just be a lack of water.
What’s more, I have arrived at the conclusion that Aether has conductive qualities similar to electricity. This will be explored in the fourth chapter of Aethretics: a series of articles meant to have you mastering energetic applications in a surprisingly timely fashion. Stay tuned, and whatnot.
What conducts electricity? Metals of course, and water, especially if electrolytes are present.
I’ve noticed a sudden uptick in Aether perception when I have a tall glass of water with a small pile of Pink Himalayan Salt mixed in. Everything in my body just seems to glide a little easier, as if lubricated. Enhancing my electrical conductivity appears to be a beneficial practice in and of itself.
I wouldn’t recommend table salt, because it has a larger amount of sodium and no trace elements or minerals. We’re low on those as it is, so you should soak them up whenever you get a chance.

on a Related Note: Skin Hydration
Those with chronically dry skin may have difficulty. Whenever my hands were driest, the skin didn’t feel as breathable or as “porous” as it did when it was properly moisturized.
If we take this conductive model to the skin, we can assume that the higher the conductivity of the skin, the more likely it is you will have a more full-bodied experience with Aether. As in any circuit, everything runs at the capacity and quality of the weakest link.
If your skin doesn’t feel comfortable or healthy to you, start by drinking more water. I noticed a huge difference in my skin not only for improved perception, but the skin also looked and felt better. Less scaly, not so sallow or pale. I have to say it benefited me in a number of ways.
It’s also helpful to use a cheap, scentless hand lotion like Cetaphil. If the skin on your hands feels gritty or tight, a small amount of lotion is all it takes to soothe irritation. Relaxed hands are more deeply aware hands.
Though I must admit, I also enjoy those super-flavorful homemade ones you’ll find at flea markets and fairs. Herbs, flowers, spices, there’s no end to these concoctions. If the lotion you choose provides hydration and makes you happier for wearing it, I have no complaints.

Sleep
It’s hard to imagine that there’s any one of us that hasn’t had a problem with sleep.
Maybe the ailment is long gone. Maybe it happens only occasionally. Maybe there’s no escaping it.
With even a single night of bad sleep we see the effects. Almost every feature of your day suffers. Your insides feel parched and gritty. Your head is in shambles. The body had no chance to recuperate, so you feel double the wear that you should.
If this has happened recently, you will experience multiple deficiencies. Be it physical or mental, you will be unable to reach peak performance in any aspect, let alone in your perception.
You really want to give this a chance? Get some decent sleep.
(Funnily enough, Aether can help one to rid themselves of insomnia. How convenient is that? Check out the Who Needs Aetheric page if you’re curious)

Nutrition
Fellas, you can relax. You don’t have to abstain from every available edible treasure and treat that a first world country has to offer. I’m not going to coerce you to plant an organic garden and live off dandelion greens and tubers.
There’s just a few things that need to be said here.
1. You can’t live off fast food. You can’t live off soda, either. If you perpetuate a diet that is highly processed, you will feel detached and zombified for the entirety of your waking hours. You will lack alertness, you will lack energy, and every little part of you will want to curl up and die. More or less. In any case, it’s not the optimal starting point to embark on a venture of such subtlety and nuance.
2. You’re not a kid anymore. You really should be eating some veggies. Whenever I have a salad, or even a few carrots, I notice an uptick in “conductivity” much like I mentioned earlier with the salt-laden water. There’s just something so very “vital” about vegetables, both cooked and raw. Maybe it has a boosting effect on the energetic qualities of the body? Ayurveda, a 4,000 year old system of health and vitality from India, has a few things to say on this. China would also like to chime in.
3. Perhaps you keep away from the junk food for the most part, and you eat veggies here and there, but you’re unable to get a nice variety of meals. Could be due to cost, or an inability to make it all taste appealing, or perhaps sheer laziness. Whatever the case, you may be missing out on vital nutrients. Let’s say you miss out on a particular nutrient for weeks, months, or even years. This could noticeably drag down your day to day experience. A multivitamin is certainly better than nothing, but many cheaper varieties do not assimilate well, and much of their content will pass through your body unused. If you want one you can trust, I’d recommend Superfood 100. Pricier than something you’ll find at Costco, but nothing beats its bioavailability and quality of ingredients. Grab it on Amazon.com and, given an item or two more, you’ll get free shipping.
See? That wasn’t so bad. Just a few common sense measures to ensure you’re not on the cusp of death.
If you’re not about to turn your life around for Aether, make it a one-day ordeal. Have a healthy meal full of fresh veggies, stay hydrated, and wait for it to fully digest*. After an hour or two, give it a shot.
*Aether is difficult to feel if you’re full of food. Perhaps it’s due to your blood being pulled away from extremities to aid in digestion, or simply because you feel bloated. In any case, I’ve noticed it time and time again. If you really want to give bio-energetic tech a chance, do not attempt while stuffed.

Drugs and Pharmaceuticals
I was fortunate enough to not need a single pill for anything, though my anxiety was high enough to earn such a sentence. Really dodged a bullet there.
From what I hear, anxiety is rampant. I’ve met people with anxiety so severe they can hardly carry out a conversation. A drug strong enough to level that out might have a subduing effect on your most subtle of senses.
I can’t say I know this for sure, since I do not take any medication myself. It’s just a possibility. Personally I feel it would only be an issue for the most heavily sedated individuals. However, if your prescriptions have a number of uncomfortable side effects, these could also make it difficult to successfully suss these sensations out.
Am I saying to cease your medication for a better chance at feeling Aether? No. That would be irresponsible.
Now, say you take illicit drugs, which are certainly in your control to cease at any moment. If they leave you with distracting side effects (like, say, the utter depletion of your serotonin), you may want to distance yourself from them for a few days until you feel like your natural self.
I’ve known some people who abuse hard drugs consistently. It’s been a fair amount of time since they’ve felt normal or centered. I doubt they would have much success with my product. Too distracted and strung out.
Funnily enough, some substances can, in fact, boost your perception of Aether. Most any psychedelic appears to further your senses beyond normal functioning, as well as ease you away from chronic distraction. If marijuana is legal where you are, I recommend giving this duo a shot. Really makes the Aether “come alive.”
Want to keep it conventional? Liquor can also be used to better your chances. It inspires physical and emotional relaxation, and you only need a little to become more in tune with your body. A glass of red wine could be your best friend here. It seems to be the least distracting and most “vitality-enriching” of the bunch.
(Yeah… I wouldn’t want to say anything irresponsible…)

Wrap Up
Much like a multi-course dinner, I began by peppering in a few quick tips to whet your appetite. Drink more water, have a salad, get some sleep. From there, it’s up to you to determine how far you would like to improve your body’s capacity for etheric awareness. All the advice offered here are common sense measures: ensure you get a full range of nutrition, mind your prescriptions and try not to delve too far into hard substances. Some substances, sure, delve away — in moderation.
In Part II of this series we’ll take a look at other, more immediate aspects of Aetheric perception: blood flow, anatomy and the effects of physical activity. Stay tuned!
