Hello, dear reader! Welcome back.
These reviews have been rather densely packed with information and techniques, so I’d say it’s a perfect time to take a little rest from the hands-on material.
Instead we’ll discuss the theory and lore presented in Chapters Three and Four, and consider how it might affect us in the real world.
While there is only one technique discussed this time around, this will still be a cognitively dense analysis.
Why would that be?
It’s because I’ll be asking you to give some foreign ideas a chance.
Though, upon thinking about it, I suppose that’s been the point of the Saga all along.
If you are comfortable with knowing that subtle energy can be transformed into personal power, then you might just believe the truth behind the creeps and bullies that you know and love.
Let’s hop right to it.

REVEALING AN N.O.B’s CORE
[/spb_text_block] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/6″ el_position=”first”] [spb_text_block pb_margin_bottom=”no” pb_border_bottom=”no” width=”2/3″ el_position=”last”]
As you might’ve guessed, this chapter’s sole function was to give space for all the wild happenings of Chapters One and Two to breathe. A delicate unpacking of every sensation, action and observation.
This sort of slow introspection is needed, for this technology has a palpable effect on one’s surroundings and the people occupying it.
Upon going out in public with Aether, you’re certain to notice some unique and powerful shifts:
- Aspects that once irritated or exhausted you will be notably less effective
- Anxieties that reigned over you will have a harder time grabbing hold
- Individuals who baffle and annoy will have their identities as N.O.Bs revealed, and the root of their bad behavior/vibe explained
That’s a lot to take in for anybody.
So naturally Maedoc, having experienced the entirety of these events, is bursting at the seams to share this with someone. And above all else, to have someone help him make sense of it.
Who else could accomplish this but Cynwrig?
Once they finally get together on the roof of the mill, the boy wastes no time in unloading on him.
Much of what they discuss in the beginning is simply a retelling of what came to pass the night before.
There are, however, a few gems of info to be found here.
One of these is mentioned early on. The duo is discussing how long it takes for an N.O.B to be revealed once exposed to Aether. Maedoc observed that there was no uptick of anxiety during his first tour of the bar.
It was only when he placed himself next to the twins a while longer that he felt a tangible shift take place.
Cynwrig shares that “a tangibly strong reaction takes a little time.”
Half a minute was his estimation, and personally — I would have to agree.
A large number of N.O.Bs I’ve run into have had varying levels of “cloaking,” you might call it.
Some of them feel acutely noxious right from the get-go.
Others have a certain murkiness that is a little off-putting.
And others feel entirely normal.
That is, until they encounter an Aetheric field of sufficient strength.
Slowly but surely, you will begin to feel something “unnatural” about the person in question. Depending on the amount of noxious energy this individual harbors, you will also feel some measure of anxiety befall you.
As mentioned earlier, it will typically take about about half a minute of Aetheric exposure for these signs to manifest.
While having the person hold an Aetheric device is the most straightforward approach, simply having them near one is enough to begin the uncloaking process.
If you have the means to put it together, a good option would be to gift a location you often see this person in question. Once accomplished, take some time to observe any changes in demeanor.
Would you prefer a more direct approach?
Grab yourself a Ray with an offensively geared Variant and aim it at their core.
This approach delivers FOUR TIMES more powerful than the person standing next to a device.
Pairing a strong intention alongside this clash of energies will help you to reveal the truth of a person more thoroughly. This practice will be discussed further on in more detail.
The concept was teased in the second chapter of Arc II, when Maedoc energetically pressed into Bearnard and attempted to “extinguish his noxious core.”
Sometimes an earnest effort of this nature is necessary to bring an N.O.B’s toxicity to light. You can shift the wording from “extinguish” to “unfurl,” if it makes you more comfortable.
Just know that you must have a sincere mission to strongly affect your target if you desire to see results.
Whether you wish to reveal their heart — or banish the depth of their negativity — a potent intent is key.
[/spb_text_block] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/4″ el_position=”first”] [spb_text_block pb_margin_bottom=”no” pb_border_bottom=”no” width=”1/2″ el_position=”last”]
THE SOURCE OF AN N.O.B’s NEGATIVITY?
[/spb_text_block] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/6″ el_position=”first”] [spb_text_block pb_margin_bottom=”no” pb_border_bottom=”no” width=”2/3″ el_position=”last”]
Why is it that Aether makes you, me, and all the normal folk out there feel nice and pleasant, and N.O.Bs feel noxious and clumsy?
Why does it affect us differently?
Something has taken place which colors their core energy a tangibly negative hue . . . but what?
There are numerous theories floating around in my circle of researchers.
A life of dark ritual. Some odd magic. Certain lineages. Or even whom they spend time with.
I go a little further in-depth on these theories in the second installment of my Intro to N.O.Bs series.
Without seeing any of these theories physically take place, it’s hard to confirm one over the other. It’ll take some old fashioned detective work to make the connections and trace the negativity to its source.
But what I CAN say is this: a negative core is a great deal more potent than a bad mood. They are not one and the same.
Cynwrig shares this sentiment.
It’s a common excuse we like to make for those who make us feel bad.
“She’s just having a bad day.”
“I guess someone was mean to him or something.”
And so on and so forth.
The thing is, if they have a negative reaction to the strongly positive energy of an Aetheric field, it’s no longer about what’s running through their head.
At this point we’re dealing with physics. The core vibration of a person, all the way down to their bones and beyond.
This doesn’t happen because you burnt your toast this morning.
It takes a solid portion of one’s life to pervert one’s energy to this extent.
Consider this as you deal with the N.O.Bs in your life. Perhaps if we work together, we’ll find an answer to this collective mystery?
[/spb_text_block] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/4″ el_position=”first”] [spb_text_block pb_margin_bottom=”no” pb_border_bottom=”no” width=”1/2″ el_position=”last”]
RAYS AND ENERGETIC RANGE
[/spb_text_block] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/6″ el_position=”first”] [spb_text_block pb_margin_bottom=”no” pb_border_bottom=”no” width=”2/3″ el_position=”last”]
I’ve already touched on this in previous Saga A&Rs, but yes, it’s true: the Rays have directional range.
That is, as long as the Variant is a directional type.
Maedoc has a Spearmint Ray, which indeed possesses this property.
Nearing the end of Arc II, Chapter Three, Maedoc gets to feel what it’s like to have a Ray aimed at his palm from a distance. Though he expected it to be difficult to perceive, it lit up his hand’s musculature and bones quite thoroughly.
What’s more, he was able to feel this sensation spread to other parts of his arm and body as well, without even touching it. This is a rather spectacular revelation, for this means that the Conduction technique can be achieved without physically touching an Aether device.
He doesn’t realize the true potential of this mechanic at the time, but if you can Conduct energy throughout a body just by aiming a Ray at a part of it, you can drastically affect a person from a distance. All it takes is pointing a Ray in their direction. Even if your aim is poor, you can achieve a full-body effect in your target.
I wonder what can be achieved with this?
[/spb_text_block] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/6″ el_position=”first”] [spb_text_block pb_margin_bottom=”no” pb_border_bottom=”no” width=”2/3″ el_position=”last”]
BAD ACTING ONCE ZINGED
[/spb_text_block] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/6″ el_position=”first”] [spb_text_block pb_margin_bottom=”no” pb_border_bottom=”no” width=”2/3″ el_position=”last”]
Upon hearing Maedoc describe the stuttering spell the twins displayed, Cynwrig was visibly confused.
From what he had heard, N.O.Bs are typically far better at hiding signs of “energetic distress.” Even with a Ray pointed directly at their heart, they can shrug it off as though nothing is happening.
A gear or two turned in Maedoc’s head, and then he confessed that this must have been the goal of the twins. To act like they’re completely unbothered and having the time of their life.
This explained their louder speech, forced smiles and excess laughter.
Now just how realistic is this? Would something this corny actually happen?
YES. A million times yes.
An N.O.B who’s been sufficiently zinged by an Aetheric field display some notable and — at least to me — humorous behavior.
One example is the mannerisms of the twins, precisely as described in Arc II, Chapter Three. Cynwrig and Maedoc dialoged on how much effort was put into appearing as though they were having a grand time, despite the reality of an energetic clash taking place within them.
It doesn’t take that keen an eye to know that something’s a little phony about it all. Especially if you know the person.
Beyond the lame acting attempt, you’ll find that some don’t go the acting route and instead clam up entirely. They walk stiffly, refuse to blink, and appear to be holding their breath. This will be discussed further in the following A&R.
[/spb_text_block] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/6″ el_position=”first”] [spb_text_block pb_margin_bottom=”no” pb_border_bottom=”no” width=”2/3″ el_position=”last”]
THE FURNACE BREAKTHROUGH
[/spb_text_block] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/6″ el_position=”first”] [spb_text_block pb_margin_bottom=”no” pb_border_bottom=”no” width=”2/3″ el_position=”last”]
Cynwrig was confused.
Why is it that Maedoc mentions this darned furnace?
Over and over again . . . it’s maddening.
A man accustomed to knowing all the facts, this mystery perplexes and frustrates him. In an effort to provide a good answer, the boy raises his arm in the same manner that he tackled both the furnace and Bearnard, and does his best to place himself back in that moment.
Here’s a quote:
“I placed my hand where the air comes in. I remember feeling it rush past my hand. I plugged it as much as I could, but it didn’t let up. The heat was immense; it felt like I would boil alive. All I could do was . . . ”
Maedoc closed his eyes as he remembered the night all too vividly. He grasped for the right words.
“ . . . all I could do was put everything I was into it. Hold tight. And press straight through.”
Upon Maedoc finishing his response, Cynwrig falls back in surprise as he perceives a rich heat emanating from the boy’s hand.
In less than 24 hours, the boy had stumbled his way into performing the Charge technique. And if Cynwrig’s reaction is any clue, this is a rather short amount of time to learn it.
How did this happen?
It doesn’t hurt that the boy was thrust into an energetically intense situation right off the bat. Though he could very well have crumpled under the stress, simply passed out, or ran off and hid somewhere.
Was it the furnace that ultimately made all the difference?
To be honest, it’s a little of both.
A fierce trial that demands everything you’ve got.
And a powerful tool in the form of a furnace.
Maedoc’s conquest of the furnace in the first Arc can be considered an informal “technique,” or perhaps more accurately a methodology that instills three very powerful insights:
1) To address a target, you must go after the very core
2) Persevere, despite the unpleasantness of the scene
3) Put everything you’ve got into it
These tenets are not all that profound. They’re fairly basic, common sense principles that you see repeated endlessly in various movies, shows and stories. Many a hero/heroine are seen pushing themselves to the limit — and then past it — to accomplish seemingly impossible feats.
The thing is, we rarely have an opportunity to battle an orc, or climb a tower and flip a bomb-disarming switch, so most of these more dramatic events aren’t likely to be encountered.
Energetic clashes between bullies and creeps, however, can take place every day. Depending on how you make a living, you might deal with a constant stream of people like these.
So, if you desire, follow the furnace archetype. Press forward, despite the difficulty.
In the upcoming review, you will encounter a technique that allows you to nullify multiple N.O.Bs at once. No physical contact required.
The main point of the furnace was to instill these three insights, yes, but there is something else I wanted you to consider.
I want you to see your worst days, your harshest traumas, as a potential source of strength.
In this world we currently occupy, we need strength wherever we can get it. Even if the source is unconventional or uncomfortable. Especially then.

Directly after the revelation that Maedoc did, in fact, Charge his way through to Bearnard’s heart, Cynwrig ends Chapter Three with a saddening directive:
The boy would have to leave the village by nightfall.
As for why this is, I feel that Cynwrig explains it in a decently straightforward manner, so I won’t rehash the same points.
The real question: could anything like this really be true?
Some sort of “network” of N.O.Bs that work together to snuff out “light” and potential in other promising humans?
Can this explain why some people — often the nicest and most shy of us — seem to be targets for the roughest sorts of bullying and nasty behavior?
I’m sorry to be a tease, but you’re just going to have to keep reading to find out.
The culmination of my sociological research, as well as the personal research of the other researchers I work with around the world, will take longer to unveil than the butt end of this article has room for. We’ll address it layer by layer over the course of the Saga.
However! If you’re eager to get to the bottom of this mystery — and are well acquainted with how long these Saga chapters take to write — then you may wish to take a look at my Intro to N.O.Bs series, which will present this information much more quickly.

LIFE AS A TARGETED INDIVIDUAL
[/spb_text_block] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] [blank_spacer height=”30px” width=”1/6″ el_position=”first”] [spb_text_block pb_margin_bottom=”no” pb_border_bottom=”no” width=”2/3″ el_position=”last”]
Essentially the entirety of Arc II, Chapter Four is a glimpse into the life of a targeted individual, or “T.I.” as they’re often called.
A quick Google search will reveal a wide assortment of websites and forums that, quite honestly, discuss some rather spooky topics.
According to popular lore, these T.I.s are people who have attracted the ire of various governments, secret societies, “gangstalkers” and so on due to some fashion of activism, line of work, hobby or bloodline.
For whatever reason, an organized group of individuals chooses to persecute an individual in myriad ways, both subtle and overt. Oftentimes it is designed to make people believe they’re losing their minds (otherwise known as gaslighting).
There’s one way this happens in particular that I’ve noticed in my daily life. You ever encounter the sorts who stare at you for extended periods of time, and once you look up at them, they meander their gaze and nonchalantly pretend to look at something next to you? It’s a common phenomenon.
No, you’re not going crazy. There really are people out there who stare at you for seemingly no reason.
Something similar happened to Maedoc in the beginning of Arc II, Chapter Three, where he discovered a newcomer to the village staring him down from a distance. This was paired with a sudden headache, which some N.O.Bs are indeed capable of conjuring.
Spooky, but true!
So the next time you feel a spontaneous headache, take a look around and see if anyone is staring at you. If so, it might be time to whip out some Aether.
Another approach this group might employ is to make you believe you’re a “cursed” individual — the type who’s rather unlucky in the outside world.
I’m speaking of those who are often cut off in traffic, or often gets their orders butchered at restaurants. Those who attract a large amount of scowls and rude behavior from others, despite their kind demeanor.
I couldn’t say what percentage of the population this might be happening to, or how valid some of the ideas you’ll find online are.
Personally I feel there’s a lot of phony bunk when it comes to this topic. A number of these people have a distinct “actor” vibe — and why they’re placed here to muddy this field for everyone, I couldn’t say.
I can say that I have personally witnessed some of this odd “stalking” behavior firsthand, so I can’t disregard the concept. However, I am certain that there are many lies and misinformation spread on this topic.
Parts of it I believe, and parts of it I don’t. So why did I dedicate an entire chapter to the idea?
Because, whether or not it is true, we can all agree that the very idea of being hounded by a shadowy group of bullies and thugs — the toxic psychic types, at that — is a terrifying one.
It is, without a doubt, the worst case scenario.
You would never feel safe. You wouldn’t know whom to trust. Any sense of comfort would be a rare commodity.
I wanted to show you that with a little Aether on your side, and a technique or two to best utilize it, you can thrive in spite of these conditions.
No matter how cursed you feel your life might be, or however noxious you feel the people around you to be, you can turn it all around in an astoundingly short amount of time.
This is what happens when you tap into the subtle energy of the universe and make it work for you.

That wraps it up!
This A&R in particular likely creates more questions than it answers.
And that’s okay.
This field of study is an incomparably murky one. To encapsulate and explain a majority of negative behavior and personalities within an energetic framework is daunting, to say the least.
Be that as it may, it is a universally approachable field. You, me, and anyone else who wishes to prove any of the tenets discussed here can do so with general ease.
All you need is an Aether device.
Remember! I’m happy to give you one for free.
And though it will take some time, if we work together, we can more fully flesh out this mystery behind the darker side of human behavior.
I hope to see you next time in the final A&R for Arc II of the Saga.
