Inventor/Source: Myself

Description: This was originally a custom project for a client. What he wanted was a tri-layered sphere with three components: confidence, trust and love. Whatever that means. Always eager for a challenge, I accepted and got to work.

I had intended this to be confidence rather than self worth, but as my research progressed, I realized that true confidence (of the non-asshole variety) can only come if there’s a strong foundation for yourself as a person. I investigated further. What was preventing people from achieving this foundation? I realized it was a universal issue: lack of self worth.

You’re anxious about approaching a girl. Why? You feel your value is less than hers, deep down. You’re uneasy about asking for a raise. Whatever for? You don’t feel worthy of that raise, otherwise it’d be so clear to you, there would be no hesitation. Or you may not feel worthy to truly speak your mind and push your point across. Apprehensive about chiming in on a conversation? Afraid of public speaking. You feel what you have to say isn’t worth their time.

This material remedies that. It’s my most pleasant product thus far, simply in the sweetness of the energy. It’s like a kiss from your mother when you’re a small child. Quintessential goodness. My aim was to energetically communicate to you that you are worthy. You’re a puzzle piece of existence; you’re required for this world to function. Only when you embrace your uniqueness, realize your worth, and become who you truly are, without fear or inhibitions towards being truthfully, earnestly you, will you take your true shape, and fit into the jigsaw of our reality.

This isn’t a sweet high, a feel-good lie to distract you. This is the truth. You’ve just forgotten it. Our society is shaped to make you forget your worth. Advertising, the fashion industry, movies, Facebook statuses, it’s all here to show you what others are, what you should be, and what you’re lacking in. Society gets a real hard-on over this.

You might have to dig a little, but who you truly are is a gift to humanity. You have incredible value in some direction or quality; maybe it is simply the purity of your love, or your warm humor. You can inspire warmth in others, or be there for someone who is having a rough time. Whatever your gift is, this Variant will help you uncover it, and when you’re feeling down, this will remind you of your immense, inherent luminosity.

I later changed the name to the Spa Variant. It’s light, fluffy and pleasant, like a day at the spa. Self Worth, as a title, is a little clunky don’t you think? Might change it again later, who knows.

Sensation: It’s pure goodness. Like, a goodness that you only knew as a child, before the world made you a distrusting cynic. It’s light and powdery, like a cool spotlight on an old dusty stage. Sun breaking through the overcast sky on a cold winter’s day.

This is the opposite of aggressive. It may be the most mild of all my wares. Not much of a tempo to speak of, either. It just feels… sweet. If your palm sprouted a little energetic tongue, this would be an etheric sugar cube.

Due to the lack of tempo and the mild strength, I would not recommend this to someone who wishes to feel bioenergetic phenomena for the first time. This is best for someone very much in tune with his or her feelings; a sensitive individual.

Instructions for use: Fairly simple. Go for this one when you feel deflated, despicable, with a dreary worldview, or if you just got dumped. Whenever you feel out of place, unlovable, lonely, OH, this does wonders for feeling lonely. Why not just have it on you at all times?

All you need do is hold it. Usually in these circumstances, your heart might feel a bit tight, or your stomach in jitters. In that case, simply hold it near the affected area (2-4 inches). Relax, slowly inhale and exhale. As with all Aether, imagine it being a little ember. As you exhale, you direct “air” down your arm, into the Aether, to fan the flame. As you inhale, draw energy back out of it. Slowly but surely, you can accumulate this sensation further.

Ingredients: Polyester resin, spodumene powder

(Note: an interesting aside, spodumene has a large lithium content. Lithium is a common prescription for those with depression. Who’d of thought)

My experience: My my, if I could give one Aether to everyone on Earth, it’d be this one. It’s very pleasant, an eternal security blanket that I’ll never outgrow. I came upon this material during a pretty dismal part of my life. Around people I couldn’t relate to, experiencing some pretty odd phenomena. I felt alone.

Time and time again, I’d look at this little sphere I’d made, thinking there’s no way it’ll help me get through THIS funk, not today. It worked other days, but it couldn’t today. Time and time again, it would surprise me. You know how when you’re truly down, any attempts to change it feel like they’re hollow, fake, or a distraction from “the truth” of the issue? With this, it’s reversed. As I hold this, I remember the truth of what a bright, lovable person I am, and my current issues are distractions from that. Mere dour fixations that can be let go of with surprising ease.

I was never truly depressed. But if I were, I feel this could make a world of difference.

Planned research:

a) I’ll need to locate a number of individuals who are suffering from depression, and have been for a while. I’ll give half of them inert polyester pieces, and half of them will be identical Self Worth aether. I’ll give them exercises and tips on how to use them. This will determine, if there is a positive change, how much of it is through simple belief, and how much of it is due to energetic therapy. Let it be said that the power of belief is a miraculous thing, I imagine there could be improvement on both sides, though those given inert pieces will bore quickly from holding a plastic piece void of sensation.

I will check in with them daily, and assess how their views towards their pasts, present, and futures differ, among other statistical points.

b) This technology applies to everyone; everyone could do with a reassessment of their value. Essentially the same study as the first, though in this case, depression is not a requirement to participate.
